Live-In Carers/Companionship Care

The live-in carer service is seen as an alternative to going into a nursing or residential home. With this service, you will have your own dedicated worker who lives in your own home. This means you can remain in the comfort of your own home with all your familiar possessions and pets. Our live-carers provides companionship, care and domestic support tailored to meet clients’ individual needs and preferences. From light cleaning, laundry and ironing to washing, showering and bathing. They can even help with correspondence and may even undertake some light gardening. Our carers will also accompany clients on local outings. 
A live-in carer means you can keep the same daily routines, and friends and family can continue to visit as they normally do.

We provide continuity of care, which means should your carer take holiday or fall ill or you simply don’t get on, we will provide you with a replacement. At Task Healthcare, we don’t wait for you to have a problem before solving it, we pro-actively monitor our carers, support and give ongoing training to ensure we offer the best possible services. 

You can expect your live-in carer to do the following tasks:

Preparation of nutritious homemade meals	Supervising and may need prompting to take Medication
Sorting, washing and drying of clients’ clothing, bedding, towels and other domestic washing	Collecting Prescriptions
Collection of prescriptions	Housework
Collection and delivery of allowances and pension benefits	Accompanying you to Hospital/GP Appointments
Shopping trips, visits and errands	Can be left alone for short periods
Recreational support – help getting to social events, hobbies and see friends	Help looking after pets
Companionship & Social Care	Provide assistance in cutting up food
Showering, bathing, washing, dressing, shaving and oral hygiene	Provide assistance getting to/from toilet
Bed Making	Moving/transferring client in or/and out of bed
Light gardening

Advanced Care

Clients with the following more specific needs are offered live-in, round-the-clock care at whatever level they require:

Not mobile on their own and requires some supervision	Cannot be left alone
Requires full assistance with showering, bathing, washing, dressing, shaving and oral hygiene	May need assistance to eat and drink
Is urine and or bowel incontinent and needs help maintaining toilet hygiene	Will need prompting to take medication or re-ordering prescriptions
Is forgetful or repetitive (advanced) and requires constant supervision	May have Dementia, Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, Multiple Sclerosis or require hoisting
Needs commode, bottle or catheter bag emptied

Emergency 24 Hours

Sudden events can change lives. This may mean that home care is required at the drop of a hat. In such situations we can provide one of our trusted carers to be there to help. We are available day and night. Call us if you need us in a hurry and we can arrange a carer to start in less than 12 hours of you getting in touch. In a crisis, we can often turn this around even quicker.
